July 26, 2005 - SaskEnergy and the Roughriders Make Dreams Come True

July 26, 2005

SaskEnergy and the Roughriders
Make Dreams Come True

SaskEnergy and the Saskatchewan Roughriders are proud to announce an exciting addition to this year's SaskEnergy Catch for KidSport™ program.

This year will be the start of the first ever SaskEnergy Kids Club.  Each child who joins will receive a SaskEnergy Kids Club Pack, which includes vouchers to Roughrider, Rams, Pats, Cougars and SJHL games, coupons, autograph book, mini football signed by Paul McCallum and much more!  Each pack costs $24.95 + tax but is valued at over $60.00.  Proceeds from the Kids Club Packs support KidSport™ Saskatchewan.  Packs can be purchased from the Roughrider store.

Throughout the CFL regular season, SaskEnergy will again donate $25 per Roughrider field goal, $25 per offensive pass completion and $100 per touchdown to KidSport™ Saskatchewan.

All funds raised through the program will go directly to KidSport™ Saskatchewan, a charity that helps children from families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sports programs around the province.  Last year the program raised $39,687 enabling 565 kids to participate in sports programs.  So far in 2005, the program has raised $4,375.  Since the program's inception in 1998 by Don Narcisse and SaskEnergy, nearly $200,000 has been raised, which has helped more than 2,700 Saskatchewan children.

"SaskEnergy has a long, proud history with KidSport™ and the Roughriders," said SaskEnergy President and Chief Executive Officer Doug Kelln.  "We believe the Kids Club Packs are a great way to continue supporting such a worthwhile organization and give kids the chance to participate in sports.  The SaskEnergy Catch for KidSport™ Program demonstrates to kids that sports are an important part of a healthy lifestyle".

KidSport™ Saskatchewan has 32 committees across the province that enable children to become active in organized sports.  Each year, the KidSport™ committees help an average of 3,400 children participate in over 30 different sports and sport camps ranging from archery to wrestling.

"When companies like SaskEnergy get behind the community, it creates a win-win situation for everyone involved," said Don McDougall, Volunteer Chair of KidSport Saskatchewan.  "The Kids Club will go a long way in helping less fortunate kids benefit from everything sports has to offer, and we're confident that this program will be another great success."

Donations can be made to the program by calling 1-800-319-GAME or by visiting the Catch For KidSport™ website at catchforkidsport.saskenergy.com.  Pledges can be mailed to the SaskEnergy Catch For KidSport™ Program, c/o KidSport™ Saskatchewan, 1870 Lorne Street, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 2L7.
