SaskEnergy and the Saskatchewan Roughriders are huddling up to celebrate some of this year’s biggest champions, the Rider Squad, after SaskEnergy has been named the volunteer champion for the 2025-26 season.

"This partnership is especially meaningful as SaskEnergy celebrates 25 years as the province’s Champion of Volunteers,” said Jeremy Harrison, Minister Responsible for SaskEnergy. “Volunteers are the heart of our communities, and I look forward to joining SaskEnergy and Rider Nation in recognizing the incredible contributions of the Rider Squad volunteers throughout the season."

As the volunteer champion of Rider Nation, SaskEnergy will continue to recognize members of the Rider Squad at each home game during the SaskEnergy Volunteer of the Game in-stadium moment. SaskEnergy’s contributions will also support volunteer appreciation events, training and uniforms for the Rider Squad, which consists of over 200 individuals who make game day what it is at Mosaic Stadium.

"Our game days wouldn’t be possible without the hundreds of dedicated volunteers who generously give their time to create the best possible experience for Rider Nation," said Saskatchewan Roughriders President and CEO Craig Reynolds. "As a Club, we look forward to celebrating with SaskEnergy as it marks 25 years as the Champion of Volunteers. Both of our organizations share a deep commitment to volunteerism and its invaluable impact on our community, making this partnership a perfect fit."

From championing volunteers at the community level to offering employees the opportunity to get involved in their local communities, SaskEnergy is committed to supporting people who choose to volunteer and by doing so, make an impact.

"We have reached an important milestone this year as the Champion of Volunteers and I am proud to celebrate with the Saskatchewan Roughriders,” said Mark Guillet, President and CEO of SaskEnergy. “Volunteerism is embedded in our company culture and is a driving force in how we support the communities we serve."

As part of the 25th anniversary celebration for the Champion of Volunteers, SaskEnergy is proud to be named the Game Day Presenting Partner for the Roughrider Home Opener on Thursday, June 5th at 7 pm vs Ottawa at Mosaic Stadium. Stay tuned for exciting news around the plans for the first game on the Canadian Football League’s 2025 schedule.
