SaskEnergy is once again offering its Tune-Up Assistance Program (TAP) to income-qualifying homeowners in Saskatchewan. Customers who qualify receive a free Network Home Heating Tune-Up, a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm, two standard furnace filters and up to $200 in furnace repairs.
“Through its Tune-Up Assistance program, SaskEnergy is making furnace maintenance and carbon monoxide safety more accessible, helping ensure everyone has a safe, warm place to sleep at night,” said Dustin Duncan, Minister Responsible for SaskEnergy. “This program is one more example of how SaskEnergy is giving back to the communities they serve.”
“Safety is a top priority at SaskEnergy,” says Kevin Adair, SaskEnergy’s Executive Vice President of Customer Service Operations. “Through programs like TAP, SaskEnergy helps homeowners improve the energy safety and efficiency of their natural gas furnace.”
Offered through participating SaskEnergy Network Members, TAP highlights the importance of annual maintenance on home heating systems.
“Regular home maintenance is really important to keep things in proper working order. TAP supports affordability by helping people in the community take care of their natural gas appliances,” says Allan Awrey, Co-owner of SaskWest Mechanical Ltd. “TAP provides a free service for a safe home and the SaskEnergy application is a straightforward process for us to assist our customers.”
For homeowners to be eligible, they must not exceed a combined annual household income of $68,000, their home must be located within a 25-kilometre radius of a community served by a participating SaskEnergy Network Member, and they must also not have been a recipient of the program in the last two years.
The online application is open from June 14 to January 3, 2025, and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers are encouraged to apply early. Visit www.saskenergy.com/TAP to apply.
