SaskEnergy honoured with three national awards
SaskEnergy has been honoured with three Canadian Gas Association (CGA) awards for 2022, recognizing our achievements in customer service, our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability, and the remarkable people who make up our team.

Mulcahy Memorial Award for Excellence and Innovation in Customer Care and Service: Customer-Centric Design
SaskEnergy’s Residential Equipment Replacement Rebate program is one of the ways that we support our customers in reducing their emissions. Thanks to the hard work of SaskEnergy employees, the process to access the program is more customer-friendly than ever before.
Working together, the team of employees implemented improvements to the process, including connecting customers with relevant program information, simplifying the application through an online form, shortening timeframes to receive the rebate, and enhancing the overall customer experience.
A benefit of the new online process is that applicants immediately receive an automated response that confirms their application has been received and lets them know when to expect their rebate cheque.
Environmental Stewardship Award for Innovation in Emissions Reductions Award: 35 per cent by 2030 Emissions Reduction Roadmap
SaskEnergy is committed to reducing our emissions from operations by 35 per cent by 2030. In 2022, significant progress was made as we unveiled a roadmap to achieve this goal.
The first step in building the roadmap involved brainstorming with our teams throughout the province, which resulted in more than 850 emissions reduction ideas being brought forward. Based on these ideas, members of our Environment & Sustainability team created three pillars to categorize emissions reduction projects and activities: vent gas reduction, renewable electricity, and optimization of operational practices and infrastructure.
In its first year, the roadmap’s priority projects have included an energy monitoring system installed at SaskEnergy’s Regina Service Centre, a large-scale solar installation at Regina Town Border Station 1, and continued work on the SlipStream technology to reduce vented gas from our system.
The roadmap will help SaskEnergy continue to meet the energy needs of Saskatchewan as we make meaningful progress on achieving our emissions reduction targets.
Young Business Leaders of the Year: Jamie Kilkenny
SaskEnergy’s employees are some of the best in the industry and one, in particular, has been recognized by the CGA for outstanding leadership.
Senior engineer Jamie Kilkenny is always finding new ways to provide value to our organization, our customers and the community.
In addition to providing advice and mentorship to her peers, Jamie has also mentored girls in Grades 6 through 8 who are interested in exploring careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
Jamie also helped organize SaskEnergy’s first-ever pipe ceremony to bless the start of a construction project, as well as three additional ceremonies with local Indigenous groups.
